Set Up Your New Computer
Learn how to set up provisioned (purchased by N-Tech) computers.
Before you start:#
- Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
- Unbox the computer and plug it into a wall outlet.
- Save any unused boxes and packaging of the computer that you just received. They may be required for future return-shipment purposes.
-
To transfer data from your old laptop, follow these best practices:
- Use Google Drive: Make sure there are no files saved locally to your desktop, documents, or Downloads folder.
- Log into Google Chrome with the sync turned on so all bookmarks are backed up.
- If you're a Mac user, log into Apple ID for apps like Notes to sync and back up to iCloud.
- N-Tech advises against the use of Migration Assistant or Time Machine, as it causes issues with our Device Management tooling.
